Week13 - The godfaher

This is the last movie of the assignment; we enjoyed our afternoon during the 3 hours movie. It tells a story about gangster, the interest and vengeance between groups. "The Godfather" himself is not even the central character in the drama. That position goes to the youngest, brightest son of the godfather, Michael, who understands the nature of his father's position while revising his old-fashioned ways. The Godfather's role in the family enterprise is described by his name; he stands outside the next generation which will carry on and, hopefully, angle the family into legitimate enterprises.\

The film was proved a great success since 1972, the casting is wonderful and has long been selected as the best 10 films. It won the Academy Awards for Best Picture, Best Writing (adapted screenplay) for Francis Coppola and Mario Puzo, and Best Actor in a Leading Role for Marlon Brando, who refused to accept the award and sent Native American actress Sacheen Littlefeather to the Oscars in his place to explain his reasons. The film had been nominated for eight other Academy Awards.
The film was won five Golden Globes, one Grammy, and numerous other awards.
The film also reflects the rules of our life. We learnt a lot of useful tips of life through this meaningful film.

Huang He:
After viewing the film, I was shocked about the cure and reality of the gangster. Then I realized that it is truth of our life. The casters play were good, they can play every little detail well, and told me we what was inside their hearts. The movie gives me the truth that, if you want to survive, you must be strong, knows the cure of life.

Wang Hu:
The film is really meaningful and wonderful! The plot is good and attractive. After watching the film, I was still immersed in the movie, thinking about the problems occurred when watching it. I may watch it a second time to unfold the questions in my heart. I strongly recommend the film to all of us!

Week12-The Lion King

Today is the first day of New Year , everything is full of vitality .
I think many people have seen this cartoon movie when they were young , this is one of the best Disney's animations and I'm sure both adult and children will enjoy the story and music and won't get bored even if you watch it for a few times.

About Film




A young lion prince, Simba, was born in Africa, thus making his uncle Scar the second in line to the throne. Scar plotted with the hyenas to kill King Mufasa and Prince Simba, thus making himself King. The King was killed and Simba was led to believe by Scar that it had been his fault, and so he fled the kingdom in shame. (He lived with two outcasts, a Merekat named Timone and a warhog named pumbaa, until he is fully-grown. He adopted their "worry-free" philosophy, forgetting his past and his heritage. After years of exile, a childhood friend runs into him by accident, and persuaded him to take his responsibility. He returned home and overthrew his uncle, claimed the kingdom as his own, thus completing the "Circle of Life".

After 14 years I re-watched 《The Lion King》and I still love it.Music is always Disney's strength and it's particular good in this film. The songs has already become classics and it's really cheering when you listen to them.

Week 10 The Shawshank Redemption

During this week’s holiday, we watched another fantastic film >.

Plot:

The film tells a story about redemption, Tim Robbins plays Andy Dufresne, a city banker, wrongfully convicted of murdering his wife and her lover. He is sent to Shawshank Prison in 1947 and receives a double life sentence for the crime. Andy forms an unlikely friendship with "Red" (Morgan Freeman), the man who knows how to get things. Andy faces many trials in prison, but forms an alliance with the wardens because he is able to use his banking experience to help the corrupt officials amass personal fortunes. At the same time, he was digging a hole through outside of the prison secretly, even his best friends was deceived. And the tool he used to dig the deep hole was merely a little hummer, he hide the hole with a poster. Finally, Andy broke out from the prison, and became a free man. What’s more, he gain a lot of evidence about the bad things that warden did inside the prison, and he force the warden to suicide with guilty.

I was so impressed with how every single subplot was given a great deal of respect and attention from the director. The acting was world-class. I have never seen Tim Robbins act as well since, Morgan Freeman maybe. The twists were unexpected, although this film had a familiar feel, it wasn't even slightly pretentious or cliched, it was original. The cinematography was grand and expressive. It gave a real impression of the sheer magnitude of this daunting prison.

In the 1994 Academy Awards the movie was nominated for seven awards (Best Picture, Best Actor – Morgan Freeman, Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Cinematography, Best Editing, Best Original Score, and Best Sound) but, in the shadow of 1994's big winner Forrest Gump, did not win a single one. That was a pity, but this film has long been seleted as the best films ever. This is enough to prove the popularity of the film.

Huang He:
The sentence that Andy said most was “Where there is a will, there is a hope”. After viewing the film, the words inspired me a lot. Andy can break out from the prison not only because his talent, but also his willing, his continuous willing to get out. So from the film, I learnt that if I want to accomplish something, I must put my entire mind on it and never give up my will even if in the worst condition. The film let me learnt to be strong, I like it.

Wang Hu:
The story is excellent, totally out of my expectation. And the casters’ acting were also very good. It was a really fantastic film. I’ve seen the film before, and I dare to say it worth to be seen twice. Every time I will be moved by the strong faith of Andy who never gives up willing. Where there is will, there is hope.

Week 9 -- Dance with Wolves

Week – 9
We watched this film after the common test, since we have two weeks' holiday , so we got engouh time to enjoy the filmes we like. This time, we choose a very long film -《Dance with Wolves》. The film lasts over 3 hours, quite long LOL, but also fantastic.

The most excellent film of Kevin Costner. The true friendship between white people and the Injuns. The film won the bid in the atmosphere, magnificent, beautiful, moving. People yearn for the western part of the scenery, the kind of simple and primitive way of life and interpersonal relationships make people yearn for, Kevin Bai and friendship between the people moved me deeply. I learnt the improtance of friendship in my life, and kenw that I must learn to be strong in order to get through the hard times in my life. I believe I'll watch this film twice when I have time, and recommend it to my friends.

Welcome to come to our Movie World , first of all , let me tell you some information about movie:

History
The history of movie has brought this mass media from its early stages as an obscure novelty to one of the most important tools of communication and entertainment in the modern world. Film has existed since the late 19th century, since it came into being it has had a broad impact on the arts, technology, and even politics.

Film production process

7.To participate in film festival.

Typical crew include:

From the above information we know, produce a movie is not a easy thing, whether the movie is good or bad. Therefore, we must respect each movie and every staff take part in the movie.
